Kapamilya actresses Julia Montes, Janice De Belen, and Sharon Cuneta are combining their acting prowess where they will star in one TV series for the first time ever in “Saving Grace,” ABS-CBN’s Philippine adaptation of the hit Japanese drama “Mother” from Nippon TV.
Apart from the excitement surrounding the powerful cast that also includes Sam Milby, Jennica Garcia, and Christian Bables, the heavy drama series is expected to tug at the heartstrings of viewers since it will tackle child abuse and domestic violence.
“Ang ganda ng lesson and story na gustong sabihin ng serye. Lagi kong tanong kung kaya ko pa ba kasi nate-tense din ako. Kailangan abangan ‘yung mga batuhan ng linya na magaganap,” said Julia who will play the role of the teacher that abducts the abused child out of love.
The series is also extra special for Janice and Sharon since this marks the first time that they will be working together.
“Napanood ko ‘yung original and in fact, naiyak nga ako kaya alam ko na agad na heavy drama siya. Siyempre gusto kong maka-eksena si Mega. Because I know people are also waiting to see how our dynamic is going to be given our colorful past,” shared Janice.
“I promise I will give my best in this project, lalo na since dalawang taon akong nagpahinga sa TV. I’m really excited kasi ‘yung ibang cast first time kong makakasama,” added Sharon who is making her much-awaited teleserye comeback.
“Saving Grace” will also introduce Zia Grace as Grace, the newest child actor that will capture the hearts of viewers as she plays the role of an abused child seeking a mother’s love.
Viewers are already eager to witness the tear-jerker moments in the show after ABS-CBN released a series of videos featuring Julia’s first day on set, as well as the cast’s look test, behind-the-scenes photos, and script reading preparations.
“Saving Grace” is directed by FM Reyes and Dolly Dulu and cast members also include Sophia Reola, Eric Fructuoso, Adrian Lindayag, Aya Fernandez, Mary Joy Apostol, Andrez Del Rosario, Fe de los Reyes, and Elisse Joson.
